Real Estate Career Reboot

It’s that time of year. Time to shake off the summer and get back in the business groove. For some, that might be an easy transition. For others — you might need a jump start to help you build momentum and hit the ground running to have an awesome fourth quarter. Here are four quick strategies to help you build some momentum magic starting this month!

  1. Fall in love with real estate again. Remember when you were a brand new agent and you had all that childlike enthusiasm and excitement about how much you were going to accomplish? Tap back in to that. Remember your why. What you do helps people. It helps families. You help people get the most return on their investments with the least amount of headaches. You’re a veritable matchmaker between buyers and sellers and that makes a very real difference in people’s lives. When you greet each day with that WHY in mind – you’re already ahead of the game.
  2. Call some friends and past clients. Sometimes we just need a “shot” of talking to people who already know us, trust us, and like us! Pick up the phone and call people and let them know you are there for them. Le them know you’re excited about many of the market changes ahead and ask if they have any questions. Is there anything you can do to help them? That’s a great start!
  3. Call expireds. I know some of you don’t want to call ANYONE – but hear me out on this one — expireds already see the value in using an agent and the MLS. Instead of calling to get the listing, call to ask how you can help. Ask what they think happened. Ask what they’d like to see happen differently this time and then permission to just take a look at the property so you can give them some ideas and strategies for getting the home sold this time around.   4. Host open houses. If you don’t have any listings, offer to hold open houses for your fellow agents. Hosting open houses gets you in the game and taking action — and as Tony Robbins says, “Motion impacts emotion.” It’s a great way to get out of a rut and into working with people which is what our business is all about!
